Employment Opportunities - Application Process
Instructions
Please follow instructions found on the vacancy
announcement. Before submitting an application, review
the minimum qualifications and location of the announced
position vacancy. Failure to correctly complete all
portions of the application form will cause delay in
processing and may result in disqualification or failure
to meet the final filing date. It is important to
carefully and thoroughly complete the application form,
including the “Duties” portion of the work history.
Position titles alone are not sufficient for evaluation
of qualification.
Persons desiring to apply for an announced position
vacancy or vacancies must submit an official State
application form, specifying the exact official job
title and code for each job class for which they wish to
be evaluated.
The State of Wyoming on-line employment application
can be found at:
http://personnel.state.wy.us/stjobs/forms/online.htm
or official application forms may be obtained by writing
to, or applying in person, at the Human Resources
Division, Room 127, Emerson Building, Cheyenne, Wyoming
82002-0060, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, except holidays.
Transcripts of any relevant course work, resumes or
references may be attached to the application; however,
a resume cannot be used in lieu of an official state
application.
All inquiries concerning the status of a submitted
application, certification or referral status of an
application, or concerning placement rank on a register
of eligibles must be submitted in writing to the Human
Resources Division. Response to all inquiries will be
mailed to the most recent address on record.
Hiring Process
All applications for employment are evaluated for
possession of the required minimum qualifications, as
stated on the position vacancy announcement. The Human
Resources Division refers qualified individuals to the
hiring agency. The hiring agency contacts the referred
applicants for final selection consideration. The final
selection of an applicant will be made by the hiring
agency from among those referred.
Successful applications are kept on file for one
year.
